Brussels Travel Log

Hello my lovely friends. Long time, no see right ? Well, I can tell you that I’m back and I hope I won’t be away from the blog for so long from now on. In this post I want to tell you a few things  about my recent trip to Brussels. I hope you’ll enjoy 🙂

The idea of this short trip was my husbands. On the 18 th of September we will celebrate 1 year of marriage and we wanted to go somewhere nice, just the two of us. So he booked a room at a lovely hotel in Maastricht and since Maastricht is close to both Germany and Belgium, we went one day to see Dusseldorf, one day to see Brussels and the third day, we saved to check out the lovely Maastricht.
I have to say that I was pretty disappointed by Dusseldorf. It is a nice city but it doesn’t wow and for sure I don’t see it as a major tourist attraction. I did enjoy a shopping day there so the day wasn’t waisted doing nothing. With Brussels it was a whole different story. If I would compare this city with another one, I think that Vienna would be my no 1 choice. Both of them are cities full of history, great buildings and nice shopping areas. If you decide to go with the car to Brussels, like we did, keep in mind that traffic in this city is pretty insane. We did have the luck to find a good parking spot exactly in the center of  town and at a decent price so make sure you check everything out before you go in this adventure. After we visited the main attractions in Brussels, or at least most of them, we decided to go and do so some shopping. Ok, I correct because my hubby will read this too, I decided to go and do some shopping 🙂 I was surprised to see in Di drugstores, The Balm products at pretty good prices. This gave me the chance to try some things out and see what suits me or not and of course, make a wishlist for my upcoming birthday.
The last day of our trip we decided to take a walk along the Meuse river and enjoy a nice sunny day in Maastricht.

I really had a lovely time in this short holiday and I can’t wait to see other beautiful places in the future. I think the next on my list is Berlin, I heard so much about it that I just have to see it 🙂
Tell me, what have you gilrs been up to lately ? Make sure to let me your answers in the comment box below.
Till next time, take care and don’t forget to smile !
