You Can Be An Organised Mum With These Useful Tips And Ideas

Being a mum is a very hectic job, and with so much going on, it’s easy to become unorganised. With so many things to think about, from taking care of the kids and dealing with the chores to staying on top of work, parenting is hard.

Many mums struggle with staying organised, and with so much to do, that’s no surprise. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. Believe it or not, you can be an organised mum, all it takes is a few simple changes, and voila, you can start keeping on top of everything.

If you want to be a more organised mum, all you need to do is follow these tips and ideas:

Invest in a family calendar

When you have yours, as well as your children’s lives to juggle, it can be easy to forget things. That’s why a family calendar is such a great idea. Family calendars have sections on them for each family member, so you can keep each family members things separate.

You will find it much easier to keep on top of everything that you have to do if you can clearly see what’s what. A family calendar will allow you to keep yourself and your family organised, so it's a fantastic resource to have.

To make your calendar even easier to keep organised, give each family member a colour, then write all of their things in that colour. This will make it much easier to clearly see who has what each day - colour coding is great for when you are in a rush, as it stands out and is easy to read.

Wear a watch

Today, most people use their phones to check the time, but wearing a watch is a much better option. Instead of having to dig around in your handbag for ages to locate your phone, making yourself late, all you need to do is glance at your wrist.

The key to being a more organised mum is constantly checking the time so that you know how long you have to get somewhere. If you own a watch, put it on. If not, then you can always pick up a watch online from - there are lots of designs to choose from.

Set alarms on your smartphone

If there are any meetings or things that you need to do, set an alarm for them. You can set alarms for things weeks in advance, so as soon as you find out that you have a meeting to attend or a birthday present to buy, set an alarm for it. That way you won’t forget important things, as your phone will alert you to them.

If you are setting an alarm for something like parent’s evening or a birthday party that your child is attending, set the alarm for the day before. Doing this will give you time to prepare and ensure that you have done everything that you need to, such as buying a gift for the birthday child.

For mums, staying organised can be tricky. However, by following the simple tips and ideas above, you can make staying organised, much easier for yourself.
