How to Choose Your Autumn Workwear Collection

As we enter into autumn, now’s a great time to give your work wardrobe a bit of a refresh. Unfortunately, those cute floral dresses that you bought for the warmer summer months just aren’t going to be warm enough, so it’s time to revamp your workwear with some stylish and practical additions.
Dressing for work can be a difficult task because you’ll probably find that the dress code varies with each office. Even though many offices are now adapting a smart-casual look, some still follow the more traditional smart style. So, here are some great ideas for what items you need to be looking for from places like Coast when you stock up on your autumn workwear wardrobe:

For Smart Offices
When your workplace adheres to a corporate or smart dress code you may feel as though there’s little room for your own personality. However, with some new trends you can add a unique touch without causing any controversy.
If you have to stick to blacks, greys and whites, try reversing the monochrome colours by opting for light grey trousers and a smart black blouse or shirt. And don’t forget your smart coat as this won’t just keep you warm but can finish your outfit off wonderfully – and it’s also an easy way of adding a splash of colour to your monochrome outfit!

For Smart-Casual Offices
If you’re given a bit more room to experiment with your clothes at work, team some on-trend items with your standard workwear. For example, off-the-shoulder knits are bang on trend and can look effortlessly chic when you team them with some smart trousers and heels. Or, if you’re not into heels, why not break the mould by opting for some smart fashion trainers. They’re incredibly comfy and won’t look out of place if you opt for a dark colour and keep them in immaculate condition.
Alternatively, if you don’t want to have to think about mixing and matching various items in your wardrobe, shirt dresses are ideal. These always look smart and you can team them with some thick tights and a belt to add some added style (and warmth!).
Finally, if your office has an “anything goes” dress code policy or you’re allowed to dress casually on a Friday, make sure you add a fun, fashionable twist to your outfit with a white roll neck and some dungarees!
