5 Ways to cozy up your bedroom this fall

The warm summer days are just a memory now and winter is settling in. Nothing is more pleasant during the cold winter days than curling up in bed with a hot cocoa watching a good movie or reading a good book. If you don't want to bring major changes to your bedroom, you can still make easy changes that will offer you that cosy feeling without too much effort and expense.

1. Don't be afraid to use dark colours
As strange as it might sound, dark colour = cosy feeling. I don't know the exact explanation for that, but I know it's true. With that beeing said, don't be afraid to use dark colours when you redecorate your bedroom for winter. Use curtains in a darker colour, or dark luxury bedding sets. Hey, you can even paint your whole room if you are bold enough.
This beautiful bedding set from Julian Charles is everything you could wish for and more. It gives you a cosy and luxury feeling just by looking at it.

  2. Add a big throw and lots of pillows
Did someone say super comfy bed? Because that's what you get if you decide to add a fluffy throw and some plush pillows. Besides the extra comfort, your bed will also look luxurious. I have to admit that I am quite a pillow maniac, if I can say so, and the more pillows I have on my bed, the better I feel.

3. Lights create atmosphere
Lighting makes a big difference in the feel of a space. Add some fairy lights to give your bedroom that magical Christmas feeling, or use a low watt bulb for your bedside lamp. A fireplace would be a great addition to any bedroom, but if you can't afford it, you can go for candles instead to create that warm and relaxing atmosphere.

 4. Don't forget to cover up the floors
If in summer bare floors are a necessity, let me tell you that in winter they're not so fun. You need to add some rugs in order to have warmth and comfort in your bedroom. You can choose to play with different textures and add not one, but two rugs for extra comfort, it's totally up to you.

5. Sweet Scents
Nothing is more soothing in winter than the sweet and spicy smell of cinnamon, pumpkin or pine. Try to create different aroma combinations and create a heavenly smell for your entire house.
