The best thing about having your friends and family by your side throughout life is that you will always have the opportunity to throw a great party. Parties can be an awesome way to let your hair down and keep in touch with people you don’t see very often, and it is always fun to set everything up. If you are thinking of hosting a party this summer, here are some top tips.
The most crucial thing you want to be when hosting a party is welcoming. When people come to your home and celebrate with you they will at first feel out of place. This isn’t their home and they won’t want to get over comfortable right away. However you can make them feel at home as soon as they walk through the door with a big smile, a hug and a drink in their hand from the off. Be an attentive host and always make sure that your guests have a drink with them if they want one.
Decorate to impress
Summertime is all about bright colours and personality, and if you are hosting a summer themed party indoors or outdoors you will want to make the most of the theme and decorate to the max. From the moment people walk through your front door they should feel like they have entered a party. Place garlands on the stairway and bring balloons into the hall for decoration. Think about bringing flamingo, palm leaf and pineapple themed decorations into the space and make the most of that summer atmosphere. You can also have some flower necklaces ready to fling around your guests neck when they walk through the door.
Great food and drinks
A huge part of a good party is the food and drink that you provide. You can make a range of different sandwiches and mini treats as well as buying in some cakes for dessert, or to vamp it up you can hire contract catering from abm and this will take the stress of organising food completely away from you.
Get the tunes flowing
Music is a huge part of setting the tone for a party and you will want to ensure that the music stays happy and flowing throughout the time you are celebrating. The easiest thing you can do for yourself is create a playlist the night before and make sure that you place all of your favourite things on there. Add in some fun surprise songs to make people laugh and ensure that the playlist is long enough to run throughout the duration of your party.
If you are outside in the garden you can make the most of the weather and break out the paddling pool for the day. You can have fun playing in the water, splashing each other and generally staying cool in the heat. A fun game to play would be a mini sports day between your family and friends where you play head to head in running, three-legged race, egg and spoon race and a makeshift obstacle course. By the end of the day you’ll all be laughing and this can make for some great memories.
